At the 2009 Green Globe Awards the Water Award for Business was won by MeterMate .

MeterMate Meter Monitoring Service's School Water Monitoring Program is child friendly technology that has improved water efficiency in schools and helped save more than 500 million litres of water per year and nearly $1 million.

By identifying leaks, often caused by dripping taps left running overnight, MeterMate's water use monitoring web portal provides schools with online technology easily used by children of all ages.

More than 1000 schools nationwide are using this real-time water consumption information to save up to 15 million litres of water each per year.

The program has highlighted that around 500,000 - 1,000,000 litres of water is lost each day in schools.

The significant cost and water savings achieved in schools is resulting in attracting a wider uptake of the MeterMate by business and industry.
